Story #1:
When I was in college, for my major, we were required to take at least two math credits. I used to think I was good at math but after one semester of calculus, I realized I was actually just very good at studying hard. I decided not to continue with the next calculus course, but thought it'd be more fun to take a beginner's HTML class (oh the shiny new internet is so pretty!) My TA felt so bad for me that I think I pulled a B+ in the class only because I got so excited that I was able to apply a Wonder Woman wall paper to the background of my HTML page. I had worked REALLY hard on it.
Story #2:
My mom is terrible with names - I mean just awful. I had a guidance counselor for 4 years in high school whom I was very close to and spoke of constantly. His last name was Steinberg. My mom still calls him Dr. Steinbrenner to this day (small town, they still run into each other a lot). We're big Seinfeld fans.
Story #1 + Story #2 = My beginning path to Jiu Jitsu
I am terrible at remembering the names of moves but I REALLY work hard and I REALLY love Jiu Jitsu. My journey to gaining my first stripe has been delightful.
I think the names I've come up with so far are quite intuitive and am hoping someone will at least enjoy a good laugh.
Happy Reading!
