Getting Hippy With It

It's come to my attention that in order to be a Jiu Jitsu master I must have more flexible hips.  Sound dirty?  It's not, unless you count the massive amount of sweating you're doing while in a long sleeved gi.  Gross, I mean seriously, between the mat and the sweat, there are definitely "prettier" sports you can be involved in.  Unless you count the serious high you get after a great class... and then, there's nothing more beautiful.

But I digress...

My Seagull Turtle game (to be explained in a later entry) is seriously off.  I can't do the rolly turtle armadillo move and when I try to do the spinny leg move I look more like a turkey stuck in a tree and less like Crane from Kung Fu Panda.

Jiu Jitsu is ALL about the hips.  Control their hips, control your hips, move your hips, change your hip angle, on and on and on.  I must improve my hip strength.  I'm committed to holding a hip exercise each night.  I'll add it on to my nightly viewing of old Top Chef episodes and glasses of red wine (helps ease the pain).

And just 'cause I got your mind on it...
